Listening

I’ve always loved that Angie listens, really listens, asks good questions and doesn’t judge.

Angie is an incredible listener. She never misses anything. I found myself amazed whenever she went back to a word I had used in one of my long ramblings to make a point. For instance, during one session, I had used the word "empowering.”  Angie emphasized the meaning and significance of the word, which made a great impact. 


Discovery

Angie taught me so much, including, but not limited to: benefits of practicing meditation and mindfulness, the power of self-compassion and permitting myself to let some things go, setting boundaries in my social life by saying no, taking inventory of my week and setting realistic goals and obligations, allowing myself to explore areas of interest, both creative and professional, and imagining what life as a working mom might look like.  

In every session, Angie demonstrated a mastery of knowledge of health, both in body and mind. Often, I walked away from sessions wondering if she had experienced the personal challenges I experienced because of her depth of understanding.

Angie provided me with informed strategies for each of my goals, ranging from fitness to healthy eating to time management.

Make-change

After working with Angie, I have become more organized, more accountable to people with whom I make plans, more patient with my family at home.

Angie has challenged me to have higher expectations for myself. Before we started working together, it had been 15 years since I had done any creative writing. The idea of writing again sounded more daunting than encouraging.  I am again excited about writing and am thinking forward about what career I might pursue.

Angie has helped me manage my daily schedule, while utilizing the help of a nanny in a way that allows for efficiency and consistency.


Encouragement

Angie is a positive, driving force in my health journey. She has been inspirational in supporting my goal of losing weight. She has given me great examples on how I could keep myself working out, even though I am not a fan of exercising.  


Accountability

I found it very helpful that each visit included a follow-up from the previous visit, new suggestions and discussion to work toward my goals, and a brief summary of action items going forward.

Angie helped me think step by step about what I need to do to realize my goals and gave me strategies for making decisions. She helped me identify the right questions to ask so that I could figure out what the priorities were.
